We are in a time where Black men and women are being targeted, arrested, and murdered based on skin color. This is not a new discovery. Last year we hosted a Juneteenth Festival to promote fellowship amongst the black community and allies and to spread the knowledge of the history of Juneteenth. Due to coronavirus, we were unable to have a festival this year but that should not stop the celebration or the spread of awareness and history of Juneteenth.
What is Juneteenth?
The oldest nationally commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth, also known as the Juneteenth Independence or Freedom Day, is an American holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865, announcement of the abolishment of slavery in the U.S. state of Texas, and more generally the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans throughout the former Confederacy of the southern United States. For more information on the history of Juneteenth go to https://www.juneteenth.com/history.htm
We have a limited number of Juneteenth shirts so get yours as soon as you can!
Pick Up option: $25 (you must live in Birmingham, Alabama to use this option, email firstname.lastname@example.org for any questions regarding this)
